Jewel Box was created for a private client in Northeast Portland in collaboration with Weld Design Studio. The client was seeking a sheltered space connected to the outdoors in which they could work peacefully while still being at home. As a result we designed a minimalist insertion using a limited palate of Douglas Fir, powder coated steel and polycarbonate sheathing.
The resulting space is a contemporary juxtaposition to the traditional lines of the existing house. The whole structure can be completely disassembled and re-assembled in any new context.
